Actually, it was a hideous framed portrait of an owl. I know owls are really in, but this painting was awful. My roommate got it at a white elephant gift exchange last year. She was going to throw it away, but I wouldn't let her because I wanted to use the frame for something else. So I just covered the canvas with fabric and screwed in the hooks into the wooden canvas frame. Super easy. :)
